St Philomena endured countless attempts on her life while in prison, including being drowned with a rope fixed around her neck, and being fired upon by arrows. Thanks to the grace of God, she was healed time and time again. St Philomena was finally beheaded. Her remains were discovered in 1802 in the catacombs of Rome. Although not celebrated liturgically, her feast day falls on August 11th.
I am so excited to be part of this! Although I don't know the other 14 members of "my living rosary", when we all say our assigned decade (albeit at different times of the day), we are in spiritual union with each other and in Christ. Our decades keep the fires going...some people's strength will help to ignite others'...and as a result, great power will flow throughout. I find this so uplifting and encouraging.
If you are interested in reading more or would like to enroll, visit the Universal Living Rosary website. Already over a million people are members, across every continent of the world. This is truly remarkable. All you need to do is pledge to say your decade, and offer a voluntary donation to keep the devotion going. I was introduced to the Living Rosary by my mother, who has been a devotee for many years now.
Praise be to Saint Philomena! Do not underestimate her power...I can say this for sure...she is an AMAZING SAINT. Pray to her...have faith...she WILL intercede for you!
